Essay
The Omega 'Soccer Timer' is among the rarest Omega chronographs, having been produced only briefly in the late 1960s and early 1970s. These striking timepieces used the same calibre 861 movement as the renowned Omega 'Moon Watch.'
The sole functional distinction between these Soccer Timers and other Omega chronographs is the inclusion of a "45" mark beneath the 15-minute indicator on the chronograph minute counter, meant for referee's to keep track of the halves of the game. The reference 145.016 comes as a cushion-shaped case watch with the dial extending to the edge of the case featuring no bezel. It is also available in both white and grey dial variants.
