Essay
Arguably the reference 5040 is one of the most unique and iconic models designed by Patek Philippe in honour of their famous time only 1930’s ‘tortue’ watches from the 1930’s.
The 5040 was first released in 1992 and remained in production until 2007 with two series: the first, with movement numbers beginning with 77X thousand, fitted with calibre 240 114 and a second series, with movement numbers beginning with 3.12X million, fitted with calibre 240 116.
The 5040 perpetual calendar was produced in yellow, white, and rose gold, as well as platinum.
